Ahoy, friends from the World of WordPress! We invite all of you to apply to speak at WordCamp Kochi 2019!
If you had the idea, that speaking at WordCamps is only for experts and gurus – then, you are clearly mistaken. Whether you are a novice WordPress user or an expert developer, whether you have a mind-blowing topic with breathtaking slides, or whether you would just like to voice your own unique thoughts, it matters the least here.
All we want is for you to speak about your own experiences, thoughts, and stories about WordPress. So, if this is your first time speaking to an audience, or if you are a seasoned WordPress expert, having spoken at multiple WordCamps, we welcome you with open arms.
Our attendees – comprising of a vibrant WordPress community, would love to hear you speak!
Do remember – WordCamps are for everyone.
We do have a few minor guidelines – nothing big, though:
- Your topic should be directly related to WordPress or related areas. That doesn’t mean that you should be speaking about WordPress, alone. Any topic that is relevant for the audience – like Web development, WordPress development, Blogging, Open Source Philosophy, Writing, Marketing, ecommerce, among others, can be submitted. Confused? Contact us, or take the plunge right away, and submit your proposal right here! We’ll get back to you.
- This year, we are planning to have multiple tracks for WordCamp Kochi 2019. We will have a separate track for technical topics, and another one for workshops alone. If you want to conduct a workshop, please choose the workshop option from the form and share details about the workshop that you’d like to organize at WordCamp Kochi.
- Plan your talk so that it is about 20 – 30 minutes long. You may even do a lightning talk that is about 10 minutes long. Workshops don’t have a time limit as such, but plan your workshop to fit-in within a one to two hour block.
- The deadline for speaker application is October 31st, 2019, at 11:59 PM IST.
- Please take cognizance of our Code of Conduct, and be respectful towards the WordPress Community, and the GPL.
We have a speaker selection team that will be vetting your talk; you’ll receive a confirmation from us whether your talk has been selected or not, in due course.
Please feel free to hit us up, if you have any further questions on applying to speak, or the speaker selection process. You can even propose multiple topics if you choose to. Please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.
